These macOS includes new Security & Privacy functions which prevent EndNote from being able to correctly automate the formatting of references in Word. I'm using Endnote X8 and the updater isn't working! On some machines with Mojave or Catalina, attempting to use the EndNote CWYW tools may result in returning to the EndNote library, or an Error message. If you have already updated to Catalina you will need to reinstall EndNote X9.3.1 Here's the link (don't forget to save a backup of your Library beforehand). I've already upgraded to Catalina! Because Catalina does not support old versions of Endnote, you need to update Endnote before upgrading to Catalina. You can access your library from anywhere. In addition, macOS Catalina will warn you during installation about applications that are not compatible with their new restrictions. You can add papers from your browser in just a few clicks, or import documents from your desktop. A Catalina-ready version of EndNote will read “About EndNote X9.3.” If X9.2 or any other version of EndNote is listed here, it will not be compatible with Catalina.
